Interestingly, a recent 2013 report from the website FranchiseHelp.com on the cleaning industry showed it is set to become one of the fastest growing sectors in the United States by the end of the current decade. In fact they actually predict a five per cent growth between 2008 and 2018.
This increase, says the report, is due to the rise in the number of elderly people living alone or in residential homes that will need additional help with cleaning chores. The report also takes into account laundering and clothing repair and this too is expected to increase with people living longer. In fact, in 2010 there were actually 824,394 workers employed in America’s cleaning industry.
‘Green’ Cleaning
Another trend is, of course, the increase in eco-friendly or ‘green’ products – thanks to new government legislation and just a general awareness all round by consumers (at Budget-Maids we always use environmentally-friendly products for our house cleaning in Columbia, Potomac, Vienna or Olney etc).
Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning
Another growing trend in cleaning is carpet and upholstery cleaning – and which we also offer here at Budget-Maids as a ‘dry’ clean service. By ‘dry’ clean we mean there’s no water used in the cleaning process. This in turn means no re-appearance of stains or water marks (such as those you would find in traditional carpet shampooing), as well as a faster service – so it’s ideal if you have a party or get-together coming up and suddenly realize your carpet or rugs (we also clean Persian and other Oriental versions) could do with a bit of a freshen-up.
And why stop there? Having your furniture steam cleaned or expertly polished at the same time will serve to enhance that ‘gleaming’ new look in your home. Incidentally, even if you have hardwood floors, you can still get them in tip-top shiny shape by having them carefully and expertly washed and buffed.
